Founder’s Story
Thang Duong — Engineer. Builder. Founder.
Thang Duong graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2009 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He spent the next decade in heavy industrial engineering — four years as a Project Engineer at Maritime International designing fender panel systems for commercial marine docking facilities, followed by a year as a Design Engineer at Superior Derrick Services working on steel structures and structural upgrades. He earned his NACE Coating Inspector certification (CIP No. 34724) along the way.
In 2019, Thang founded Amour Construction LLC — not to chase volume, but to bring that same engineering rigor to a residential and commercial market where it was often missing.
Amour holds both the Louisiana Residential Builder license (#887572) and the Louisiana General Contractor license (#72507). That dual credential is rare in Acadiana — it means every project, from a $500K family home to a $1M+ custom build, gets engineered from foundation to finish.
Since 2016, Amour has completed seven commercial projects across Lafayette and Lake Charles, plus twelve custom homes built across Acadiana with current builds priced from $500K to $1M+. The flagship: UNIQ Nail Lounge — a $4.37M, 8,740 sqft commercial build where Thang led Development, Design, and General Contracting under a single operator.
